Life in the 21st century is hectic. We seem to spend most of our time rushing from one place to another just as fast as we can in cars, express trains and aeroplanes. So relax and slow down so that you are travelling at no more than 15mph. Then you will be able to appreciate your surroundings and actually enjoy the journey.

The passenger trains run for just a part of the year. But throughout the year work goes on to keep the wheels turning.
The railway’s workshops are situated at Llanfair Caereinion. These pages show some of the activities that take place in and around the workshops in order to keep the wheels turning.
