The completed chimney base is clamped to the bed of the radial arm drilling machine for the fixing holes to be drilled.
After the six holes had been drilled they were then filed square to prevent the dome headed fixing bolts from rotating.

The pattern for casting the chimney cap is on the table to the right of the drilling machine.
